GWJ SOAR
"Together We Grow"
October 2, 2020
Welcome Back
We are so excited to see students in-person. Our staff has been preparing for months to make sure that students are safe and learning in our building. This will be different in many ways this year. Students will be eating in classes, Masks will be worn for most of the day. Our school which has always encouraged and appreciated volunteers is going to be much more closed.
These are the changes that are required at this time, that will allow us to focus on the things that have not changed. We love your children. We want to build positive relationships with them and help them to build relationships with their peers. Teachers are also working hard to deliver high quality instruction in very new and different ways that still helps all of our students grow.
You have held on and pushed through every transition and we are hopeful that now we are moving back into the building that you will continue to partner with us in this new phase of defining normal.
We need your patience. Social distancing will increase the amount of time that it will take to move in and out of the building safely.
We need your caution. It will be important that you monitor your child's health and keep them at home when it is necessary. Modeling and reminding your children about health and safety practices will also b helpful.
We need your engagement. Everything about our plan is meant to ensure safety and learning. If you have opted to continue with remote learning, please take advantage of the instruction that teachers are preparing and providing.
Thank you for choosing George W. Julian 57. We look forward to a great year.
Ms. Campbell
