The Latest from Camas School District

Board Highlights (just the facts)

At the January 13 regular board meeting:

Since we are nearly halfway through our school year, Superintendent Jeff Snell shared a status report on where we are in key areas of focus.

  • 2016 Bond - We're wrapping up bond projects with fields, athletic facilities, and Garver Theater breaking ground this spring and summer. Learn more at our bond webpage.
  • Budget Cycle 2020-21 - The Superintendent's budget committee is digging into data including legislative increases transportation and special education funding and the adjusted levy rate. This additional revenue combined with our cost-saving efforts makes it likely that we’ll be able to maintain our staffing and program levels for next year.
  • Long-Range and Strategic Planning - Last year, we gathered input from staff and community about our mission, vision, values, and goals. This year, our Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) reviewed that data and will work to create recommendations for our staff, students, and community to review and offer feedback. These recommendations focus on the kinds of learning experiences we want for each of our students in the future.

Weekend Backpack Program

Did you know? More than 1,000 children in Camas get subsidized nutrition during the week in our schools. We help make sure that the neediest among them don't go hungry over the weekend, but supplies are low. We would never want to turn away a student in need.

Want to help? Drop off food donations directly at your school, or the Treasure House, and specify the items are for the Camas backpack program. You'll be helping kids in all grades across Camas!
