We are excited to see all of you again at BCCA! The new school year has begun at Big Cove Christian Academy under the leadership of our Principal, Mrs. Cassie Fristoe. We began the year with a time of united prayer for our teachers and students in each of the classrooms. We solicit all of your prayers each day as you intercede for our teachers and our students, as we endeavor to instill Christ's character in them.

Let's give a big warm WELCOME to our newest staff member at BCCA, Cassie Fristoe (grades 6-8). We are so glad she has joined us, and look forward to her gifts and talents at the school. We are also blessed to have Mrs. Wendy Boyd (grades 3-5), and Ms. Melissa Boyd (grades K-2) as part of the dynamic trio. They are super excited to make a difference in the lives of your children.

We have a new feature added to our newsletter. Every month we will learn about one of the families attending BCCA. With all the busyness of life, here is a great way to know each other better. SAVE THE DATE! Big Cove Christian Academy is hosting a yard sale fundraiser at the school on Sept 26 (Sunday), from 7:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. For those interested in getting a table to sell your items, there will be a small donation amount of $5 per (small table), $10 per (large table). If you have items you would like to donate to the BCCA school table, please contact Lisa Schmitt at l.schmitt@bigcovesda.net to make arrangements. In addition, there will be a pizza lunch fundraiser.

If you are in need of transportation on a weekly or monthly basis please contact Lisa Schmitt at l.schmitt@bigcovesda.net to set up a schedule. Currently, a couple from the church have recently retired from truck driving and are willing to provide this ministry to those who want to take advantage of this opportunity. Monthly rate is $20.

We are happy to announce that Jodi Perkins (local Music Teacher) is offering private piano (or other instrument) lessons every Friday during school hours for 30 minutes. (Students would miss 30 minutes of PE, community service, or other extracurricular class offered on Fridays).

Additional lesson offered are: ukulele, voice, and mandolin lessons. The monthly rate is $105.

Students will need to bring an instrument for all lessons other than piano. They will also need music books to go along with the instrument (Please discuss with Jodi).

Please let Mrs. Fristoe know if you are interested in signing up your child(ren). Spots are limited, and lessons will be scheduled on a first-come basis!

Every Friday BCCA offers a pizza lunch special. Price: $4 for 2 pieces, $5 for 3. Salad, cookie, and drink included! All proceeds go towards the upper grade class trip at the end of the year. Thanks!

We are excited that the Garden Club will be returning this year under the leadership of Tearl King. They meet every second Monday of the month to learn about gardening, and God's nature. Children will be planting and getting dirty, so please send your child with an extra set of gardening clothes. Can't wait to see what will be growing this year!

Our Home & School fundraiser this year are the "Save Around" coupon books. The price of one coupon book is $20. It provides coupons from various businesses. For every 5 books sold, you get one free! More information will be given this month by our Home & School leader, Maggie Navarro.
