The Carleton Chronicle
A weekly update from Carleton Middle School.
We need you!
The Booster Club needs you! The Booster Club is an integral part of Carleton Middle School. In addition to paying for some “extras” for the teachers and the school, the Club hosts student after-school activities, in-school awards and the 8thGrade Year End Party, just to name a few. As many of our dedicated board members and volunteers are moving on to high school with their students, we are looking for parents to volunteer either as a board member or parent volunteer for the 2019/2020 school year.
Board member and volunteer activities include brainstorming ideas, planning activities, shopping for activity items (pop, candy, paper products etc.), and setting up, manning and cleaning up after activities. The Club meets once a month during the school year for approximately an hour. We aim to project a friendly and inviting atmosphere in all that we do. Our meetings are brief, as we are all busy parents and your input is important to us.
Statistics show that parent involvement is related to improved student behavior in school and better attitudes about schoolwork in general. Improved communication between teachers and parents increases student engagement, as measured by homework completion rates, on-task behavior and class participation. Middle school can be a challenging time for our kids, so this is a great time to get involved and be informed. If you or someone you know is interested, please let us know.
There are many ways to reach us…You can contact us at: boosterclubcarleton@gmail.com” or Follow us on Facebook at “Carleton Middle School Booster Club." You may also contact the main office and let them know you are interested in being on the board or simply attend a meeting (keep an eye on the newsletter for dates). Thank you!

PSAT Update
Thank you students and parents for your efforts to be in attendance during our PSAT assessment on Tuesday, April 9th. All of our 8th grade students but four were present (and we were able to make up their tests this week) and all but fifteen sixth and seventh grade students arrived by 11am. This is absolutely incredible attendance data for such a unique day. You set the bar high Colts...great job!
