The Common Core, State Testing and More
Since listening comprehension outpaces reading comprehension until about age 13, Tales2Go is the perfect resource for your students. Take a look at this chart (on left) and these standards:
Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.K.2: Confirm understanding of a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media by asking and answering questions about key details and requesting clarification if something is not understood.
Language Arts Florida Standards (LAFS)
LAFS.3.SL.1.2: Determine the main ideas and supporting details of a text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally.
English Language Arts and Reading Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
Grade 5 b27a:
Listen to and interpret a speaker's messages (both verbal and nonverbal) and ask questions to clarify the speaker's purpose or perspective.
You can support your students simply by adding a listening component to your literacy rotation. We're here to help!

Join Us For a Webinar
In regards to Professional Development, phone calls and e-mails are great, but one of the most effective ways to show you the extensive options and uses of Tales2Go is through a live webinar.
By attending a Tales2Go webinar, you'll have the chance to watch a walk through of Tales2Go, learning about audio book research and why adding a listening component is important. You'll also see how Tales2Go works and find out how to get started in your classroom. There will be time at the end of the session for the facilitator to answer any questions you have. Feel free to invite your colleagues, too!
