Week # 2 Update
Lancaster News Sept 13th, 2019
School News Items
We have been very happy to see the progress taking place with our traffic project! There will be one more week of limited access to the front driveway in front of Lancaster. While paving has been completed, there remains some work to be done in terms of landscaping, pavement painting and signage, etc. that will require easy and uninterrupted access for the work crews. Road paving on the north side of Lancaster drive will also be taking place and will include the addition of a curb to help prohibit vehicle parking. We appreciate your patience as we work through the final stages of the project. Full functionality and use for parents will be communicated as the news comes to us. We have been thrilled to see so many students walking and riding their bikes to school!
We are happy to report that our 2019-20 school organization has been approved. Despite a fair number of incoming and outgoing students, our numbers have remained stable enough that we do not have to re-organize classes this year.
As a result of their community initiatives and projects last year students from our Ministry of Caring have earned tickets to attend the Toronto ME TO WE Conference on Thursday September 18th. An exciting opportunity and we look forward to hearing more about their experience upon their return.
Our running club hosts Race around the Park on Thursday September 26th. This event invites other schools in our district to participate in a pre-meet friendly competition. It gives us an opportunity to prepare our minds and our bodies for "race pace" and to share the experience of running as a team in this event.
SOCCER: Lancaster legs will be running the field as we enter a junior and two senior teams in the district tournament. Dates have now been provided and forms will be coming home next week.
Tuesday Sept 24 ~ Lancaster Junior Tournament

Our key mission is to promote an environment at our school that enables staff to do their best work and children to do their best learning. The Parent Council provides input on key elements of school life and offers community-building activities and events that support relationship building and increased parent engagement at our school. At Lancaster, we want to be inclusive and offer a welcoming climate so families are excited to participate, feel comfortable and well informed about school and council events.
