Dynamite Dolphin Winners!
PBIS Positive Update
On Friday, November 3rd we celebrated our continued commitment to fostering a safe and respectful community here at NYE! Our primary focus remains on promoting respect, responsibility, and safety among all community members. Pictured above you will see SIX students who are the newest Nancy Young Dynamic Dolphins! CONGRATULATIONS!
Here at NYE every student will be recognized at least once a year for their positive behavior. At this point 68% of the student body population has been rewarded by visiting the prize cart. Additionally, students continue to be recognized with positive principal referrals!
Keep up the great work Dolphins!
Parent Teacher Conferences
Please ONLY sign up for a conference with your classroom teacher. We do not have enough time slots for our special’s teachers or math acceleration teacher(s) to accommodate everyone. If you have a concern with Art, Music, PE or a specific math teacher please email the teacher directly.
If you had a Art, Music or PE conference the office has deleted the scheduled conference. If you scheduled a conference with your child's math acceleration teacher, I am asking that the classroom teacher cancels that appointment. Teacher MUST accommodate their homeroom students before taking on any additional conferences.

Kindness Quest @ NYE
On Thursday, November 9, Nancy Young students participated in an assembly called Kindness Quest. This laser light assembly was led by Corey and his virtual friend Max. At the assembly, students learned life lessons about the components of kindness which include self-awareness, empathy, and compassion to help others.
Thanks to all NYE students, which demonstrated respectful, responsible and safe behavior during the assembly!

Attendance Matters
One in ten kindergarten and 1st grade students miss a month of school during the school year when all their absences are added up. That is critical learning being missed. Children who do not learn the building blocks and basic skills in the early grades must work much harder to stay afloat as they go on. Many never catch up. (Hedy Chang, Present, Engaged and Accounted for: The Critical Importance of Addressing Chronic Absence in the Early Grades)
