Principal's Message

Dear Ride Families,

I wanted to send a shout out to our incredible first three days!! Every body is so happy to be back! The kids are happy, the staff is happy, you are happy, and all this happiness makes my heart warm.

Thank you for a great start to the new school year. Students and teachers spent time the first week getting to know one another and learn classroom procedures, routines, and rules. With close to 600 students parent drop-off and pick up have been extremely busy, but seem to pick up speed every day; thank you for your patience as we all work together.

We held our first PTO meeting this week and the turnout was wonderful. This year's PTO has many events planned and would love volunteers. Our first meeting is this Monday, Boo Hoo, Woo Hoo for parents to come learn about Ride and how they can get involved. If you are interested in participating in the PTO contact them at www.Ridepto.com

We also want to say thank you to our fabulous PTO for working with Yard Card Queen to welcome back everyone. Thank you to Yard Card Queen for sponsoring Ride and providing the signs. If you would like to have yard signs give them a try.

This Blast contains important information for joining the PTO, purchasing school shirts and spirit items, and after school programs available for you.

We will have the following after school activities available this year:

Dance Club - Ride Gym

Chess Club - Tuesday

Tennis - Tuesday - Ridgewood tennis courts

Golf - Thursday - Ridgewood park

Robotics - TBD - Application process coming

Destination Imagination - (DI) -- TBD looking for parent volunteers to manage teams.

Meet Our Amazing Ride Teams

Meet Ride's New Teachers

We are so excited to welcome a few new teachers to Ride this year! First up, we have Mrs. Fife back at Ride teaching 1st Grade! She loves teaching little ones and being part of their fascinating world. She has five kids, her two oldest are both Aggies and her youngest enters fourth grade this year. All five were SKR Challengers! She can't wait to meet her new students this fall.

We are so excited to introduce our new teacher, Kelli Beasley! She is so excited to join the Ride family, joining the fabulous kindergarten team this coming school year! She has lived in The Woodlands her entire life and is a graduate of The Woodlands High School. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas State University. She has a total of 11 years of education experience working with children from ages three, all the way up to 4th grade. She has enjoyed staying home with her three children, Brooks (10), Brett (, and Brinley (5) for the last five years. She is ecstatic to get back to work, doing what she loves! She is looking forward to a wonderful school year, working with an awesome staff and great families!

Next up we have Mrs. Syska! She is so excited to be a part of the Ride family! She will be teaching 3rd and 4th grade special education. She has a BBA from James Madison University in Virginia and a MBA from Oklahoma State. Once she had children, she decided to become a teacher and I have loved every minute of it! She has taught in special education for 13 years. Welcome to Ride!

Introducing our new Instructional Coach, Mrs. Richards! “ All I ever wanted to be was a teacher. For my 5th birthday, the only item on my wish list was a chalkboard. The following Christmas, all I wanted from Santa was a gradebook. I spent my early years having school with my teddy bears and dolls. Each year, my desire to be a teacher grew immensely. I spent 7 years in the classroom, and then I became a district instructional coach to expand my impact from my classroom to entire campuses and districts. Now, I am so happy to have a home at Sally K. Ride as the campus coach.” Welcome to Ride!

Our next new teacher is Ms. Murray who is so excited to be our new 3rd Grade teacher at Ride Elementary! She grew up in Magnolia, Texas not far from here and attended college at Texas State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She student taught at Ride in the Fall of 2020 and had the best experience. She can’t wait to be back and we are so excited to have her!
