First Grade Students Explore Sound
Mrs. Hampton and Mrs. Lopusan's classes completed their exploration of sound on Friday by creating their own rain sticks. The students built the rain sticks themselves and were given several choices of materials to fill them with to create a variety of different sounds. Students have been learning about sound waves and the different types of sound.

The Child Assault Prevention Program Comes to Davenport
On Tuesday, January 14th, the New Jersey Child Assault Prevention Program (CAP) trained the Davenport staff. CAP is a statewide prevention program that seeks to reduce children’s vulnerability to abuse, neglect and bullying by providing comprehensive prevention workshops. CAP works closely with the EHT school district and has a threefold educational approach to abuse prevention which includes training in the following areas: staff in service, parent programs, and individual classroom workshops. On Wednesday evening, January 15th, Davenport hosted the parent portion of the program.
