Good Afternoon Monroe Families!
This week, our 4th grade students traveled to Plain City Elementary to do a team building activity with their 4th grade students. One of the goals for this year with the elementary leadership team has been to create intentional opportunities for our 4th grade students to do activities this school year so that they can begin to form relationships between the two groups of 4th grade students for when they merge together at Canaan Middle School next year. For the activity this past week, we divided the students into 7 groups led by 4th grade teachers. The groups listened to a story titled, “Going Places” and then broke into smaller groups to create a go-cart with the materials that they were provided. It was great to see such creativity in our students. Although each group had to use the same materials, each group’s car was different.

Career Cafe
This week, Monroe Elementary had two parents come and share about their jobs as firefighters.
A special thank you to Brianna Gatley who works for the Columbus Fire Department and Bryan Adams who works for Pleasant Valley Fire Department. They both taught our 4th grade students about their careers.
