THE VERNAL POOL!
The Vernal Pool With Mr. I, Such Fun, He's Quite a Science Guy!!!!
We had the chance to head out to and into, hahaha, the vernal pool with Mr. I. This was such a great way to work on one of our final STWEAM topics, animal characteristics. While discussing what makes each animal their own special species, we also discovered how different animals survive. The Vernal Pool has so many of its' own unique animals including the ferry shrimp. Below are some photos of our first trip to the Vernal Pool. More photos from this trip and our second trip will be posted to See Saw this weekend.
Important Info. From Mr. I.

OCEAN THEATER!
Our final STWEAM topic is the OCEAN! We will be learning first hand again, at the Seacoast Science Center in June, More details will be coming home shortly. We will also be reading, viewing, listening to, discussing, researching, hopefully skyping with an expert, and writing all about the ocean! The class will compose a readers' theater about the ocean, have it video taped, and then present it to our family and friends! See the flyer below for details! Please RSVP, so we know how many chairs to set up, and a snack count for our picnic. HOW EXCITING! We hope you are able to join us.

Animal Characteristics and Paint With Sticker Art
Come See our Work in our Hallway!
We did a Mystery Science project with grouping and classifying animals based on their characteristics. Then each student chose a paint by sticker animal to create. The students had to write four characteristics about their chosen animal. This project is displayed above their locker and and mail pocket in our hallway. AMAZING!!!!! We will be making another piece of paint with stickers art for the ocean, as well as designing our own ocean poster with original stickers.

Check out this student link to the lesson we worked on. It will expire in 10 days. BTW, the parents who attended the Information Night, worked with this, and did a pretty impressive job with the activity, just sayin'!
