Thomas Edison Elementary School
Thomas Edison Elementary School serves grades K- 4th in the Antioch area. Faculty and staff serve their community by maximizing the academic abilities of their students. This year Edison has embraced the theme “Our Neighborhood.” In the school neighborhood, Edison embraces their students, teachers, support staff, parents, and community partners. The schools’ mission is to educate their students by providing needed resources, social-emotional learning and a rigorous curriculum. Edison supports their faculty and staff by providing a positive environment of professional development and an atmosphere of belonging and value. Edison supports parents by providing them with frequent communication and any needed wrap-around services. They focus on increasing partnerships every year help enhance the feel of “Our Neighborhood.”

Principal’s Station
Arrival & Dismissal Car Line
Car Line Safety: We aim to keep our kids safe each morning during arrival. Please be aware of Stop Signs and continue to stop BEHIND them. Have your children remain in the car until your vehicle is in front of the Stop signs. * Listen for the bull horn. * Watch for the Go sign.
During Dismissal your child will remain in the gym until their name has been called to come out to your car. Please remain in your car. School Staff will usher your child to you and signal for you to drive once all children are safely in their cars.

Scholastic Book Fair for Students
Stories create connections and tie us together wherever we are. Scholastic Book Fairs empower kids to find the stories that speak to them. Campus Portal for Students and Families
In Campus Portal, families and students can see real-time class and assignment grades, homework, test scores, upcoming due dates, attendance information, discipline incidents. The Portal also offers:
- Full access to the Personalized Student Dashboard, which displays student assessment and testing data. Which shows:
- Classwork and class grades
- MAP Assessment information, which measures your student’s academic growth over time
- TCAP Assessment scores
- Attendance
- Academic Plan, a special feature for high schoolers that tracks credits needed for graduation
- Better communication between teachers and families through emails and mobile alerts. Teachers can send messages to parents, and schools are able to post important news and announcements.

PENCIL Foundation
PENCIL is a non-profit organization that builds strategic partnerships between community groups and the needs of Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). We are one of the nation’s largest networks of businesses, universities, and faith-based organizations actively engaged in public schools. We believe community involvement is key to academic success for students.
PENCIL’s work is to engage groups of volunteers that support initiatives within Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). In addition to this work, we also facilitate the background checks for all volunteers that fill certain roles within MNPS.

Southeast Community Center
Children can participate in a drop-in program that focuses on active recreation, while supporting healthy social and academic development. After-school and summer enrichment programs for children from 6 to 14 years of age.
