Happy New Year!

January 7, 2016

We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones, and that this new year brings you abundant peace, joy, and blessings! This year, we look forward to growing together as a Church family, continuing to build on our faith and individual commitments to the Lord, and finding new ways to reach and serve others in the community and the world around us with a positive message and a giving spirit. As always, we thank you for your continued support of our ministry!

Christmas Food and Clothing Drive

On Saturday, December 19th, members of FTBS Ministries joined other area organizations at The Continental at Freehold to package and distribute food, clothing, and personal care items to families in need during the Christmas season. The event was a huge success, not only providing resources and warmth to those seeking assistance, but also serving up smiles and compassion. Thank you to all of those who donated their time, effort, and provisions to this wonderful cause!

Christmas Candlelight Service

Sunday, December 20th was our Christmas Candlelight Service. At the conclusion of our regular worship service, guests lit the Advent candles (representing the virtues of hope, love, joy, and peace) and the Christ candle, reminding us that Jesus is the light of the world. Afterwards, the congregation stood together in unity, each lighting their candle from another, while praising our Lord in song. As a special treat, Tim Parham provided a dramatic interpretation, entitled "The Night Before Jesus Came," moving many to tears!

See below for some pictures from the Candlelight Service.

Kwanzaa Service

On December 27th, FTBS celebrated Kwanzaa during its Sunday morning service. Special thanks to Trustee Catherine Smith for facilitating this event, and to Shantel Scott for her moving reading of Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise." We would also like to thank the other individuals who participated in this beautiful celebration, including Alisha Smith, Andrew Smith, and Savanna Parham.

First Communion at FTBS

This past week marked our very first Communion Sunday at FTBS. Together we partook in representations of the body and blood of our Lord and Savior in remembrance of his enduring sacrifice.

See below for some pictures from the January 3rd service.
