Mrs. Moncrief
Elvis Presley
He broke into the music world as a young kid from Tupelo, Mississippi. His family didn't have a lot of money, but loved music, and Elvis could really sing. He was very shy in high school but learned how to play guitar well, learned Gospel and Spiritual songs and began to perform at talent shows, and the artist was born. He made his first recording at Sun Records in 1953 so he could give it to his mom as a gift. They were impressed with his vocal talents, and he recorded a couple other songs, but none of them did very well. His big break came when he performed on television called the Ed Sullivan Show, in 1956. His popularity soared over night. Also over night he increased the recording business and it would grow into the industry we know today.
