Congratulations Feb. Students of the Month!
KINETIC AFFECT AT OMS
Our students started their week on an inspirational note with a visit from Kinetic Affect. This poetry slam duo shared their life stories and talked to them about ignoring cliches, standing out, embracing differences and more. STAND, Students Taking A New Direction, organized their visit and members got to have breakfast with them after their assembly. They wanted students to hear the message that if they live a drug-free life, and they follow their passions in life, anything is possible!
8th Grade Chaperones Needed
We need YOU to help us with our annual 8th grade field trip to the
Allegan County Area Technical Education Center (ACATEC)!
As is traditional, we will be sending our students over the course of two mornings (half of the 8th grade class go one day, half the other). This year, those mornings also coincide with our two half days at the end of the trimester: March 8-9.
If you would like to join us and experience first-hand the over two dozen different career programs and opportunities at ACATEC, consider chaperoning with us! No group of students will be larger than 14, and all groups are assigned an ACATEC docent guide that actually leads each tour. You’ll meet with your fellow chaperones at 8:15 in the cafeteria, meet your group at 8:30, board the busses at 8:45, enjoy the tour, and you’ll be all done and headed home at about 10:50 (keep in mind that school is dismissed for students at 11:10 both days). Join us for this educational experience that is packed with great information for both students AND parents! Contact Keith Fuller (OMS Counselor) at 692-6199 or kfuller@otsegops.org if you would like to attend. Thank you!

7th Graders Travel to RoMan Manufacturing
Mr. .McCallum's 7th grade Design and Modeling class had another awesome trip to RoMan Manufacturing this trimester. The team at RoMan does a great job showing the kids all of the steps in the manufacturing process. One group was lead through the facility by the Chief Operating Officer, Nelson Sanchez. The kids were excited to receive prizes from RoMan as well. A special thank you to School Board Vice-President, Scot Reitenour, and Mr. McCallum for coordinating this unique experience for our students.

Bulldog Bookin' Bus is Coming to Town!
There’s a new bus in town! Starting this June, a mobile library will be available for Otsego students and we couldn't be more excited! It's the Bulldog Bookin' Bus! It will be a bus full of books that will travel around our district. Guest readers will come and read their favorite books; kids can stop by and grab a book to read or take home! We need you to help fill it! We are taking donations of gently used or new books geared toward kids PreK-8th grade. Drop-off locations include all of Otsego Public Schools, Mezzo, B & C Trophy, Otsego United Methodist Church, and Harding’s. Thank you for supporting our kids!
