Updates
First Day of School (Monday)- 6th graders will report to the cafeteria; 7th graders will report to the gymnasium; and 8th graders will report to the courtyard. Teachers will pick up students and take them to their home rooms. They will give the students their schedules. Students in 6th grade will get their Chromebooks in their homerooms.
Tuesday- Students will report to their home rooms upon arrival.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday- Upon arrival, 6th grade students will report to their 1st period classes; 7th grade students will report to the gymnasium; and 8th grade students will report to the cafeteria. The media center in the morning will only be open to 8th grade students.
Back to School Night- We will try a different approach this year. It will be more like an open house than the traditional back to school night where everyone follows their student's schedule. Parents will be able to visit the cafeteria to learn about special events and programs. Parents will also visit teachers in classrooms without following a schedule. Teachers will be available from 6:00pm to 8:00pm for visits.
Facility Upgrades- Our main office now has an ADA approved bathroom, two additional small conference rooms and one large conference room. We also have a science room on the first floor. And, our School and Community Based classroom has a Zen room.
Welcome Mr. D'Souza- We will have 3 assistant principals this year! Mr. D'Souza will be joining our admin team after years of experience in both middle and high schools. Most recently, he was an assistant principal at Mario Loiderman Middle School. We are delighted he will bring his knowledge and experience to our school community. He will be the 7th grade assistant principal.
Free Breakfast and Lunch- This school year, ALL students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch daily for free. We will not need lunch forms.
New Line Bus Areas- We have changed the bus areas for the White Oak area and the Leleck areas. Students going to the Broad Acres (Joann Leleck) area will now ride Green Line buses. Students going to the White Oak area will now ride Blue Line buses.
Back To School Night Schedule
White Oak Middle School Back to School Night Schedule
This year we are trying a new format. Instead of scheduling classroom visits on a 1-7 day student schedule, parents will be able to visit teachers throughout the night. Este año estamos probando un nuevo formato. En lugar de programar visitas a los salones de clase en un horario estudiantil de periodos 1 a 7 días, los padres podrán visitar a los maestros durante la noche a su gusto.
Here is the list of teacher rooms (locations). (Aquí está lista de salones de los profesores)
