Welcome to the Tierra Del Sol elementary Newsletter
Welcome to March!! We are certainly lucky to have missed all the horrendous winter weather we could have had this year. I and the staff at Tierra Del Sol would like to thank you for your efforts to get your students to school even when the weather was questionable! This month will be a short month due to our Spring Intersession and Spring Break.

In the world of technology that follows us everywhere, all day long, parental controls is a topic that can be difficult to keep up with. Do you need parental controls? What are the options? Do they really work? Common Sense Media has information that can guide parents to make informed decisions in what is best for their family. Go to CommonSenseMedia.org and choose the tab ‘Parents Need to Know’.
Student Can Improve Their Typing Skills
Students have been introduced to two typing programs. They were very excited to begin their typing adventures. Typing.com allows students to practice typing at any time when logging into Clever. Students enjoy watching their levels soar as they practice efficient typing. Ask your child about their most recently learned keys!

New Library Challenge
Please put in your update: New Challenge
The new challenge will run from March 1 to May 5. The goals are as follows.
1st grade 14 books
2nd grade 21 books
3rd grade 26 books
4th grade 30 books
5th grade 34 books
For every 2 points earned with 80% or higher, students will draw an Easter egg with a mystery prize! If all students reach their goal, Ms. Triplett and Mrs. Jones will kiss a pig! Please help us reach our goal.
