Pride of the Tribe
Week of November 12, 2018
$ HAT DAY
- Friday will be our first $ Hat Day.
- Arm bands will be sold during lunches on Thursday.
- Like you do with badges, please check for these arm bands before students enter your classroom each period. If they do not have on the arm band, they do not get to wear a hat.
- If you do not help in policing this, then it will be for nothing. Students will learn this behavior and we won't make any money in our fundraising efforts.

Nuts & Bolts
- PLEASE BE AT YOUR DOOR DURING PASSING PERIODS.
- Shut-Down List - Please make sure everything in your room is unplugged. Department Heads will be responsible for making sure all rooms are cleared for the break. Please help them out by making sure your room is done.
- Thank you for helping to watch for students skipping at lunch. If you see something that looks suspicious, please call the front office so we can investigate.
- Coach Poynter decided to give all of his students one hall pass for the 3rd six weeks. If they do not use the pass, students can turn it in for one dropped minor grade. This might be a good motivator...GIVE IT A TRY!
TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE INFORMATION
- It is due February 28, 2019, by 4:30 pm. (Every certified teacher is required to participate.)
- It should be posted outside your door as well as on your website on the Welcome page.
- It must be based on a Performance Assessment (PA) from TEKS Resource System unless your subject doesn't have any PAs (ie Fine Arts).
- It must be a student creation; we have 2nd-grade students AppSmashing (using 2 or more apps to create a final product), so our expectations are growing!
Tammy will be sharing different tools you can use with the PAs as well as daily in your class for students to create. We will be talking more about it, but I wanted it on your radar. This isn't something you should stop and do; it should be something you are doing in your curriculum at any time in the first four six-weeks of school (plus a little more). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

I Leave You With This...
It's good when central office administrators remember what it's like to work in a school. It's good when school administrators remember what it's like to be a teacher. And, it's good when teachers remember what it's like to be a student. #empathy ~Steele Thoughts
