Blood of Olympus

Drew Price Hinkle block 1

Characters

Jason is one of seven demigod's chosen in the prophecy. He is a very skilled fighter and fights with swords and javelins. He is originally a roman demigod but lost memory of life as a roman and became a greek. Jason's father is the Roman god Jupiter.

Percy is the most well known demigod from the series he starred in called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He is a greek demigod and is also one of seven chosen in the prophecy. Percy is also a skilled fighter. He uses a sword called Riptide. Percy (like Jason) lost his memory of being a greek and became a roman. Percy's father is the greek god Poseidon.

Leo is one my favorite characters (if not my favorite) of the seven demigods. He is a humorous and funny person. He can build almost anything with his amazing talents of his father the Greek god Hephaestus.

Setting

The setting takes place in The United States and Europe. The time is present in the 20th Century. This effects the characters in the fact that they have the technology to complete the quest and go to Europe and back. The technology required building a giant ship that can fly and float so they can get around quickly.

Conflict and Plot (spoilers)

This book is very intense through out the entire book. The conflict actually starts in the second book of the series but it isn't until this book that they figure out how to properly solve it. Gaea the Earth goddess is rising to power and is pretty much going to destroy all of humanity. On top of that the Romans and the Greeks are about to go to war and two demigods and a satyr have to go find the Athena Parthenos as a peace offering while the other five are going to try and stop Gaea. the falling action is when the war stops and Gaea is defeated. But Leo sacrifices himself to save the world and is never seen again. But he actually survives and nobody knows.

Symbolism

I think the main Symbol is the Athena Parthenos which is a giant statue of the goddess Athena. In the myths the statue is stolen by the romans and is hidden. This is why in the book it is considered a peace offering, the romans are giving it back. This statue also provides some sort go aura that gives things around it strength. I think this is why the romans took it to weaken the greeks.

Book Recommendation

I would recommend this book to anyone. It is such a thriller and all though it is big it goes by so fast. I could not put it down! This book is full of action but also drama and the ending is so good but I don't want to spoil anything. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars! Just be sure to read the series in order! This book is book 5 out of 5 in the Heroes of Olympus series.
