Ph Scavenger Project
by: Elyssa DiRienzo
What is Acidity, Baseness and neutrality?
*Acidity is when a chemical solution gives of hydrogen ions thus lowering the Ph
*Basic is when a chemical solution accepts hydrogen ions, raising the Ph
*Neutral is when a chemical solution neither emits or absorbs hydrogen ions. the Ph of a neutral aqueous solution is always 7.
Procedure
All of the samples I will be taking will be a initally aqueous solution, i.e I won't dilute solid substances in water so I don't risk dilution. I will be taking twelve samples of solutions. I will photograph the results with the original container in the background. I will experiment with less obvious substances for Ph variety.
