Safety & Security
As we move forward to create a safer and more secure school environment we have a couple of security updates. The Maintenance Department has re-keyed our exterior doors. They came over yesterday to made the changes so we apologize for this short notice. In addition we will have a limited number of exterior keys to distribute. As of yesterday afternoon all of the outside door locks have been changed.
For staff parking in the back of the school, you will need to access the building via the two fobbed doors (at each end of the rear parking lot). Make sure to use the Fob to get into the building. Again, no doors should be left open or propped open. Also, the door at the end of the 400s classroom hallway (past Band and Industrial Tech) will be locked throughout the day.
For the front of the building, the three entrances to the school will remain unlocked from 7:00 a.m. until the start of the school day (8:15 a.m.). After that time key fobs or using the buzzer system will be required for entrance. We apologize again for this short notice regarding the changing of the exterior locks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Lee.
Family Trivia Night
Our Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team is planning a trivia night for Friday, February 26, 2016. There is detailed information on the flyer (above). Let’s show them how much we appreciate all their support this year by attending this FACE event!
Please get together with your grade level, department, PLC, hallway, or family and put together a basket for the Basket Raffle. Some suggestions are a candy basket, sports basket, gift card, snack food basket, or any other type of basket you want to put together. We will display them at lunch so the students can buy raffle tickets. If you are interested in donating a basket, please contact Cheryl Sellers. Please have the items or baskets in school by Monday, Feb 22, 2016.
We are also looking for teachers and students to participate and reserve a table. The question is are you SMARTER than a Fifth Grader? Please see the flyer for information on registration. Please push your students to organize student tables.
If you would rather Judge, score keep, or help out that evening please e-mail Mrs. Carolyn Tichenor at cltichenor@gmail.com.
Thank you for your support! Our goal is to use the funds raised from the Family Trivia Night to provide an increased amount of technology for our students.

Important Information
The Awaken Project
On Friday, February 5th we will host The Awaken Project during an all-school assembly.
Jeff Mozingo and Joe Richardson will lead out this captivating Heroin Education and Awareness presentation. A reminder for CCC teachers to sit with your CCC classes.
Evacuation Maps
Dr. Lee placed evacuation maps in every classroom. This is a requirement from the district, so please do not take these maps down. The same holds true for the Tornado location and fire location signs hanging by the door. There are many rooms that do not have these signs hanging and visible in the classroom. If your classroom is not in compliance, please print a copy attached to the SMORE and hang in your classroom.

Technology
Staff Google E-Mail Accounts
Last fall, e-mail was added to staff and student district Google accounts. However, your Microsoft Outlook account is your primary account for district communication. Please continue to use your Microsoft Outlook account for communication with colleagues, students and parents.
With increased student use of Google accounts, especially for sharing files with teachers, some students have become confused about the format of teacher e-mail accounts. Students might accidentally send e-mails to teachers’ Google accounts.
Please remind students of your official FHSD e-mail address, and encourage them to contact you using their official FHSD e-mail address. Also direct your students to any classroom resources where they can locate your e-mail address (Syllabus, Schoology page, etc). If you need any help checking your Google e-mail, or having it forwarded it to your primary e-mail account, please contact Jeff Bargielski.
