Message from Geordie
Dear St Bernie’s Families,
Good afternoon everyone,
It is with a huge smile on my face, that everyone can now see, that I write to welcome you all back to St Bernie’s this week. I have enjoyed getting around to all the classrooms today to let students know that many of the restrictions have now been lifted. The weather was awesome, and the kids were very excited to be back playing throughout the school.
I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate our Year 3 students who made their First Reconciliation on Thursday night. I have had a some very mature discussions with our Year 3 class this week and I was very impressed with the way they engaged in our conversations about our conscience, sin, prayer and the importance of building a close relationship with God. Father Giovanni was well supported by a number of priests from our region and the liturgy was a reverent and reflective occasion.
Finally, I have had a long meeting with CEWA about the changes in school and I expect this information to be delivered in writing soon (Sorry, I was hoping to have it in this newsletter). I will go through this over the weekend and get it out to you on Monday. It will be great to welcome parents back to school and community events!
Enjoy your new freedoms and the amazing weather.

Reconciliation
A reminder that the Celebration Masses are this weekend, Saturday 6pm and Sunday 9am. Unfortunately the Parish Office is closed at the moment, so the certificates will be handed out at school at a later date.
Welcome to Father Giovanni (Father G)
Originally from the town of Messina, Sicily, Fr Giovanni was ordination in 2016. He had planned to become a chef during his teenage years, and while already in the advanced stages of a course in hospitality, he felt called to enter the seminary.
Father G is already making an impact in our community and we welcome him into our Bernie's family.

Library News!
In order for the children to borrow these books however, they will require a book bag. These can be purchased from Hot Klobba for approx $15. Please ensure your children have these bags so as not to miss out on these new additions.
We are also seeking donations of any books that can be added to the library collection. If you have books at home that are in good condition but no longer needed, please pop them into the library.

Second Hand Uniforms
A reminder that there is a Facebook Second Hand Uniform page for families to access.
