WHEEL OF EXPERTS - ENGINEERING AND MUSIC FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS BEGINS IN JANUARY

We are excited to be launching our "Wheel Of Experts" program in January. This pilot program will provide 12 consecutive weeks of music and computer science/coding instruction to our fifth grade students at AES and BOES. Students will learn how to play the recorder and the keyboard. In addition, students will also be introduced to the elements of coding. We are excited about these new and innovative ways to increase learning opportunities for our students and create a pathway to our middle school programs.

DUAL IMMERSION LANGUAGE PROGRAM AT JMMS BEGINS NEXT YEAR

We are excited about the expansion of our dual immersion program to JMMS next year. We are very much looking forward to our first group of dual immersion six grade students entering JMMS. These students will continue to develop high levels of English and Spanish proficiency. Thanks you teachers, staff and parents for your collaboration and partnership in ensuring a seamless transition from elementary to middle school.

NOTES FROM THE PTA/PTSA

Boulder Oaks PTA wants to wish all of our teachers, staff and families a very safe and happy holiday and new year. We have seen an increase in not only enrollment, but also parent (and grandparent) involvement on campus. One of BOES PTA’s missions is to bring families on campus and for them to be involved and interact with the administration and the students. We realize what a difference this makes in the lives of all of our students. We will be kicking off 2018 with our nominating committee getting into full swing to start putting together a new board for the 2018-19 school year. We encourage anyone interested in becoming more involved with the school or taking their volunteerism to a new level, to inquire and sign up to be a very important part of the school and your child’s academic career.

AES has events planned for January. We have our monthly PTSA meeting on Tuesday, January 9th at 3:30 in room 20. On Wednesday, January 10th our minimum day movie is Despicable Me 3. Our Leader in Me program is having a picnic on the lawn on January 18th during lunchtime. Our parents and family members are welcome to bring blankets, chairs, and of course lunch to eat with their child.

AEF 5K FUN RUN SPONSORSHIP

The Alpine Education Foundation is looking for sponsors for the upcoming 5k Fun Run that is going to be held on February 25th this year. AEF would appreciate any support from the community, businesses and families in the form of sponsorship. The more money AEF raises at these events, the more grants, etc. they are able to give back to the schools.
