Weekly Newsletter
This week, I'd like to recognize the United States Marine Corps as they celebrate their 247th birthday! This past Wednesday, our El Camino Marine Corps JROTC celebrated the Marine Corps birthday with a cake cutting ceremony.
For those who have earned the title of Marine, Nov. 10 is celebrated as if it was their own birthday, serving as a "yearly reminder of the brave spirit that has compelled young men and women to defend our nation and its interests for more than two centuries," according to Marines.com.
We'd like to honor our own MCJROTC instructor Captain (Ret.) John Moreno for his service in the Marine Corps. We hope you celebrated the day by thanking a Marine in your life for their service.

It's Cold & Flu Season!
Cold and flu season is upon us. Health officials are warning there may be high levels of influenza compared to the past two years, when COVID-19 precautions helped keep flu infections low. As a reminder, please do not send your child to school if they are feeling sick or experiencing symptoms of a virus. Keeping your sick child home will be a great benefit for the health and wellness of our students and staff.
The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. You can click on this link to find prevention tips from the CDC.
