Sora eBooks and eAudiobooks
Dear South Middle readers,
I am reading a lot, more than I usually do, because it helps me get away from what's going on right now.
This past week I finished Restart by Gordon Korman and Hideout by Watt Key. Restart is about an 8th grade boy named Chase who falls off the ledge outside his second story bedroom window, wakes up in the hospital with acute retrograde amnesia, and remembers nothing. Chase slowly learns he wasn't the kindest human and had hurt a lot of people, so this is his chance to restart. I LOVED it, LOVED it, LOVED it.
The second book I finished this week is Hideout by Watt Key. Hideout takes place in Pascagoula, MS, in the swamps and river ways along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. 13-year-old Sam has just received a boat, yes a boat, from his dad for his birthday. Sam uses his new boat to explore the swamp and goes places he's not supposed to go. While out exploring in his boat, Sam finds Davey, a 12-year-old boy, living in an old fish camp out in the swamp. Davey says he is waiting for his dad and older step-brother Slade to show up. Davey is filthy and has nothing to eat except for the fish he is able to catch; Sam is worried about Davey and has lots of questions about how Davey came to be out in the swamp all alone. Sam decides to help Davey, and as he does, dangerous secrets are exposed that could cost Sam his life. I loved this one too. I have visited Dauphin Island and Ocean Springs, Mississippi, several times, so I know the area, which made the book that much more interesting for me!
Anyway, I wanted to invite all of you to try out Sora if you haven't. It is full of ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, and realistic fiction novels. So much stuff! Restart and Hideout are just two of the great books you can check out in Sora. Nothing would make me happier than to see Sora ebooks and audiobooks flying off the virtual shelves. I have included information below to get you started. Please email me at school if you have any questions or need book recommendations. I am just an email away.
Miss you!
