Please keep in mind that beginning Monday, March 23, staff will not be present at schools and offices to answer phones. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s teachers and they will refer your request to the appropriate person to help.

STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS

All GMS students will need their Chromebooks to access Schoology and WebEx so that they can locate and complete all educational content created by their teachers.


In the event that your child's Chromebook begins to have performance issues, please use the power washing instruction button found below. You may also see the trouble shooting tips button for an easy fix. Digital learning technology assistance is available daily from 8:30AM - 3:00PM by calling 864-397-1185.

NEW INFORMATION added 3/30/20

WIFI ACCESS

GMS students will need internet access to view teacher provided content and to complete assignments. You can download Schoology and WebEx to your cellphone as a potentially temporary solution. Any family that does not currently have internet access, SDPC recommends the following options:



  • Charter Spectrum - Charter is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 students who do not already have a Spectrum subscription. To enroll, call 1-844-488-8395.
  • AT&T - AT&T is also providing budget friendly Internet options. For availability and more information click HERE.
  • Hotspots - during online registration this year, parents were asked to indicate whether they had home internet access. SDPC is in the process of purchasing enough mobile internet hotspots for these families. Eligible parents will receive a separate email or phone call to inform them of their eligibility as these become available.
  • School Parking Lots - Students can access school WiFi from some of our school parking lots. Gates to our parking lots will remain open so that students can park on our properties and access school WiFi. Students will not be allowed to congregate outside their vehicles. East End Elementary, West End Elementary, and GMS are Easley area parking lot WiFi access points.

FOOD SERVICE

SDPC is offering breakfast and lunch for anyone under the age of 18 (and special needs adults up to age 21) on school days (Mon.-Fri.). Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, meals will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations for Easley area schools (a full list of all schools and Churches serving meals can be found HERE):


  • McKissick Academy of Science & Technology
  • West End Elementary
  • Georges Creek Baptist Church

Bus Delivery:

School buses will travel to their morning and afternoon stops carrying meals beginning at 10 a.m. Monday-Friday. Lunch and breakfast will be delivered together. Delivering meals by bus is new for us, and we hope to post more exact times for when buses will arrive at their stops after Monday. Any child, whether they ride a bus or not, is allowed to get a meal at any bus stop. If you need a meal, just look for a yellow bus!
