Message from the Principal

Hello Pyle Families,

We have had a wonderful week. This week students have enjoyed seeing our talented 5th and 6th grade students perform their winter chorus show, displayed artistic abilities during the No Tardy Party, and learned amazing new information.


Our student leadership group, the Panther Pride Club, will be selling Holiday Grams from December 5th-9th at your child’s morning recess. Grams are $1 cash and a special gift will be attached. Thank you for supporting our students.


Classes are gathering information about ordering a sack lunch on Thursday, December 22, which will be a 12:35 dismissal time. Please be sure to notify your child's teacher if you want to order a lunch before December 7th.


Save the date: Our ETMLA All school Music performance will be on Thursday, December 22 beginning at 8:45 am.


Christmas break this year will begin on Friday, December 23 through Tuesday, January 10. School will resume on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Meet Mrs. Ober - 6th Grade Teacher

Hola to my PAWSitive Panthers young and old!

My name is Mrs. Riquel Ober, and I have had the pleasure of teaching for over 30 years! I was born and raised in the city of Compton, where I was always encouraged to do my best in school! My teaching career began in the Compton Unified School District. I later joined the Ernie Pyle family in 1996, and have enjoyed every minute of my time working with the parents, staff, and especially the students! My goal is to help my students set high expectations for themselves, and develop the self-confidence needed to overcome any obstacles they may face in their educational endeavors! Once a Panther, ALWAYS a Panther!

Meet Mrs. Ober - 6th Grade Teacher

Writing Contest - Bring your words to life!

Ernie Pyle is having a writing contest. Please encourage your student to participate. Students are invited to write a story that will be submitted to a group of actors who will choose a story and act it out for the school. We cannot wait to see the amazing stories come to life. Submissions are due to the school office by December 16 at 1:00 pm.

Thank you families for helping to ensure that our students are on time to school each and every day they are well enough to be here. We had a wonderful No Tardy Art Party in the cafeteria with our students who were not tardy for the entire first trimester. Hope to see everyone at the second trimester No Tardy Party!

Disciplina Positiva - “Family Annual Review and Planning of Finances and Mental Health”

Disciplina Positiva will be providing a FREE virtual Spanish Conference this Saturday

Objective: In this virtual conference, mom and dad will carefully look at the year 2022 on the four areas that strengthen their family: mental health, marital relationship, parenting, and finances. The goal is to learn from their mistakes to improve them for the next year, 2023. Through a questionnaire, parents will identify their weaknesses and strengths in their family to provide a healthy environment for their children and, as a result, a better academic focus.


This Conference is a Complementary Parenting Training (Spanish) for our parents regarding our partnership with Disciplina Positiva.
