Parent Teacher Conferences
Students will be coming home on Monday with your scheduled conference slip. All conferences are 20 minutes in length and will be held in person in your student’s classroom. Your assigned conference slot is based on the day and time your conference was scheduled in the fall.
Once you receive the confirmation slip next week, please cut and return the bottom portion of the form by 1/27/23 with your student to confirm your conference day and time. Please call Stephanie Ford, administrative assistant, if you have any questions at 785.438.4343.
Dillon's Community Rewards
Planet Aid Clothing Bin
Each week, the organization will empty the bin and record the weight of its contents. For every pound of clothing placed in the bin, our school will receive 5 cents. Participating schools typically earn several hundreds dollars a year by simply having this bin accessible to the public. The donated clothes will be recycled or used to support sustainable projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Attendance Info
Attending school regularly is essential for student success. It is important to start building the habit of going to school on time, every day (when not sick) as good attendance is a skill that will help students succeed in high school and in college or their career.
Attendance Works outlines additional information about the importance of regular attendance in the infographic below.
Important McClure Attendance Definitions:
Tardy - arriving after 8:40 am Mon-Thurs/9:40am Fri.
Early pick up - leaving before 3:40 pm
According to Kansas law (K.S.A. 72-1113) a student is truant if they have the following unexcused absences:
Three (3) consecutive unexcused absences
Five (5) unexcused absences in a semester
Seven (7) unexcused absences in a school year
If a student has accrued 10 or more excused absences, a doctor’s note will be required for any future absences to be excused. More information about attendance policies may be found in the parent/student handbook.

Cold Weather Season
- Please be sure to send your student with a coat each day & dressed for the weather
- It is recommended that you write your child's name in their coats/sweatshirt/jackets so they can be easily returned if lost
- Encourage your student to look at the lost and found if they are missing items
- We will go outside for recess if the temperature and wind chill is 20 degrees and higher
- If your student is in need of a coat, please complete the Student Needs form below
Dismissal Reminders
If you need to pick up your child early you need to do so PRIOR to 3:30. After 3:30pm, we will NOT call your students up to dismiss from the office, you will need to join the car line and pick up from there. Students move to their dismissal locations beginning at 3:30, so it is sometimes difficult to quickly locate and retrieve a student during this time.
If you need to change your child's dismissal routine for the day, please notify the office by 3:00pm so we have time to communicate that with the classroom teacher.
We appreciate your help with our dismissal procedures!
