McNear Falcon Flyer
Keeping Us Connected with Campus and PTA News
Painting, Pulling, Performing, Mulching, Meeting, Making Things New
It has been busy around school, two amazing garden workdays, kinder, first and sixth grade visits, the super sweet Variety Show and preparations for shifts in learning. Thank you all so much for your incredible participation, patience, perspective taking and support. So many seeds have been planted this year for us to nurture and build upon. On Friday, notifications were sent out via ParentSquare regarding conditional class placements. They are conditional because we know we may need to make a few tweaks this week which may impact in small ways or create needs for other shifts. There are of course pros and cons to these changes, the new schedules, new systems and new ways of doing things but overall we can see progress forward. Compared to other schools in the district we have the highest hybrid learning requests which allows us to keep the majority of our students with their current teachers. We have eight students who left at the start of the year for other programs who are returning and about thirty students who will remain in distance learning through the end of this year. Distance learning students may still participate in any and all enrichment activities. We all remain Falcons and will work hard to create, innovate and stay connected.
Please look for a special everything hybrid newsletter this week with reminders throughout the break regarding the shifts in the instructional model. Some important pieces include assigned entrances and exits for classrooms, assigned all gender restrooms, daily ParentSquare Health Screenings, travel advisories, limited campus access for parents, enrichment classes, mask guidelines and more. If you are around the second week of break and would like to help with signage, spray painting, sound checking the classroom microphone systems etc. please let me know.
Well wishes,
Liza Eichert
We Need You
We have a critical need for PTA Board Members for this upcoming year (2021/2022). If you have been thinking about becoming more involved at McNear, this is the time. Most of us on the current board have jobs and we all have kids and busy lives, so don’t let that be a barrier to getting involved. You can also run for a position with a partner and split a position, for example, two people as president.
We are required to have a president, treasurer and secretary to operate as a PTA. Most importantly, we cannot spend any of the money we have raised this past year without those positions filled.
The following positions are open for fall at this time. Please let me know if you are interested or have questions about the positions.
Available positions:
- President
- Executive VP
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Treasurer, Teacher Supply Fund
- VP, Fundraising
- VP, Membership
Thank you,
Susan Spaulding
McNear PTA President
