Where the Adventure Begins...
HAPPY FRIDAY!!
Hey there, ECS Parents! We have had such a FUN week with your children! We have been talking about things that we are thankful for. Did you check out the pics above from a couple of our classes?
BIG NEWS...please read this next portion carefully!
The city of Frisco has worked with our district to create a more efficient traffic pattern for our front carpool lane. This only affects those of you who do carpool at the front of the school on the south side of our campus. West side carpool stays exactly the same! Attached is a map that shows how you should come through the neighborhood to enter the front loop for drop off and pick up each day. This goes into effect MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26th.
You will:
-approach our campus coming in on Huntington
-turn right on Kings Ridge
-right on Red Cedar
-then turn LEFT into the carpool lane
Please make sure when you do, you stay in the right lane along the curb so we can unload or load your child as quickly as possible. We are hoping this will drastically cut down on the congestion in the neighborhoods and make carpool a much smoother process for everyone. There will be City of Frisco Representatives out to help direct traffic. Thank you for your patience as we all learn a new procedure.
As we close this week, I wanted to THANK YOU ALL for donating to our annual ONE AND DONE fundraiser! Because of everyone's generosity we were able to raise $12,700! This has been our most successful year ever and that's all because of you! We will be earmarking this money to buy children's literature and materials that support the social and emotional learning of our students in every classroom. We will also be able to replace some 10 year old equipment that our students use during motor lab, sensory motor lab, and recess time! Thank you so much for partnering with us to provide your children the very best experience we can while they are students here with us. We are honored for the privilege to serve you and your child!
Please remember we are closed all of next week! I hope you and your families have a Happy Thanksgiving week!! We will see everyone back at school Monday, November 26th!

The Counselor Corner
Many of us spend our “spare” time chauffeuring our children from school to extracurricular activities and family engagements. When the holidays roll around things do not slow down, and we can easily fall into a busier schedule trying to fit in as much “fun and holiday cheer” as possible. However, over planning can add stress. The consequences to stress around the holidays can be over indulging in food and drink. These are not healthy habits we want to model for our children. There are other options that can make holiday stress more manageable.
The American Psychological Association recommends the following:
· Make time to reconnect with friends and family who offer support and positivity
· Discuss the various holiday traditions in your community to educate your children about other cultures and religions
· Set a budget for holiday spending.
· Make a ‘to do’ list and then decide which can be eliminated or postponed for after the holidays.
· Practice self-care like exercise, spending time outside, and enjoying a fun hobby.
