Principal's Message
It's so hard to believe this is the last Friday of our school year... and what a BEAUTIFUL Friday it is! This was one of those years that seemed to go on forever, yet is over in the blink of an eye. We are so proud of your children, their determination, perseverance, and willingness to embrace something so new and different. Thank you for supporting them and us!
For families of twins: please contact your child's teacher or Mr. Lewickas (alewickas@sd308.org) to let us know if you would like your children together in the same class, or if they should be separated. We are trying to finish up class list creation.
As the weather gets warmer, we have more students walking or riding bikes home after school. Please remember to let the office know if your child will be going home a different way than 'normal.' That way, we can make sure they get to the correct dismissal location. Thank you!
All Kindergarten through fourth grade students must return borrowed District devices. Please see the information below about dropping off your device and charger at the District Office. Current 5th grade students may keep their newly received Chromebooks over the summer.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Registration is open for ALL students, including NEW (or returning after a year) students. Please reach out to friends and neighbors! As mentioned before, our enrollment determines our staffing.
Kindergarten - 4th Grade Families
Over the last year, our district has loaned many Chromebooks, iPads, and hotspots to students. As we approach the end of the school year, we will be collecting equipment from all students that borrowed “curbside” devices in grades preschool through 4th-grade.
Please plan to drop off devices and chargers at the District Administration Center located at 4175 Route 71, Oswego, IL 60543. We will be facilitating a drive-thru device drop-off.
May 26th - 1 pm - 4 pm
May 27th - 8 am - 4 pm
May 28th - 8 am - 4 pm
If you do not return the device by 4 pm on May 28th, we will apply charges to your account in the amount of $320 per device for the missing equipment. If you do not return the charger, the replacement cost will be $50 per charger.
If your student is enrolled in summer school, they will keep their device until the end of the program, at which time they will turn in their device and charger.
Fifth Grade Families
Fully remote 5th-grade students can visit the District Administration Center at door 1 located at 4175 Route 71 Oswego, IL 60543 to collect a 1:1 Chromebook on May 19th, 20th, and 21st between 10 am and 2 pm. If you have borrowed a device, please bring the electronic equipment and the charger when you collect your new 1:1 Chromebook.
Failure to swap and or return the device could result in charges to your account in the amount of $320 per device and $50 per charger.
New Chromebooks will be assigned to your student for the remainder of the school year. We will not be collecting 1:1 devices over the summer, and they will bring these to class next year.
Specials Assessments
Library Books are DUE!!!
We ended last school year with MANY missing books due to the shut down. We are hoping to get some (all?) of those back. We currently have 587 checked out, 118 overdue, and 581 lost books.
Without a book fair this year, our library did not make money to purchase replacement or updated books. Please look for LC Library books at home and return them to the school vestibule or your classroom.
SCHOOL SUPPLY ORDERING!
Please return school materials
Please be sure to return any items or materials that belong to Lakewood Creek (school books, materials, math manipulatives, whiteboards, etc.) These items need to be returned to school very soon, and can be left in the school vestibule. If your child has finished using the item, please send back to school as soon as possible. We inventory all items to ensure we have the necessary materials for all our students for next school year. Failure to return items borrowed may lead to a replacement charge on your account.
Thank you!
