Definition of Biography
An account of someone's life written by someone else.
History of the Biography
At first, biographies where just considered historical books about an individual. But as they became more and more popular they became their own genre. The first biographies where written by the Ancient Greeks. The first modern biography was written by James Boswell in 1791.
Characteristics of a Biography
A biography is a life story of a person written by someone other than that person.
A biography must be about the person's life.
A biography focuses on challenges, struggles, and significant events in a person's life.

Genres Related to a Biography
- Auto-Biography-It is related to a biography because it is about a person's life and their challenges and struggles. But it is written by the person that the story is about.
- Non-Fiction-Related to a biography because, biographies are true and so is non-fiction.
