The negative effects of alcohol on the human body.
Alcohol's Negative Effects
Alcohol has many negative effects on the human body including short term effects such as having trouble walking and talking due to loss of muscle control. There are also long term effects such as loss of brain cells and cirrhosis of the liver.
Loss of muscle control
Alcohol can cause a person to lose all muscle control. Without muscle control they may have trouble walking and lose their balance. That person may also have trouble talking and have slurred speech.
Loss of brain cells
Abusing alcohol may kill brain cells. When brain cells are destroyed they can never be restored.
Cirrhosis of the liver
Abusing alcohol can lead to cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis of the liver is when the liver grows scar tissue instead of healthy liver cells.
