Performance Task 1
Your first task in Spanish 1 is the following:
By the end of Unit 1, I will be able to do the following:
I can greet people and say goodbye in different ways.
I can ask a person what his/her name is and how he/she is doing, as well as answer those same questions.
I can ask a person where he/she is from and lives, as well as answer.
I can ask a person when his/her birthday is and how old he/she is, as well as answer.
I can ask a person what he/she likes and doesn't like to do, as well as answer.
I can ask someone what day and date it is, as well as answer.
What is my deadline?
- 6th and 7th Graders you have until Oct. 20th
- 8th Graders, you need to be there by Sept. 23rd (this is review for you)

How do I get there?
You will submit your work through Canvas (an online Learning Management System). We will be learning about how that works in these weeks to come.
How will I be assessed?
You will also have a series of mini quizzes that will make sure you are getting the basic building blocks of the language together.
Each unit will have a Final Project that involves showing how you can express yourself in writing and speaking, as well as giving you the opportunity to use photos to show what you have learned.
What will I be graded on?
- Interpersonal communication (conversations with another person in Spanish)
- Presentational Spanish (Written and spoken)
- Interpretive Spanish (Listening and reading)
- Cultural knowledge and comparisons
So you will be writing and speaking-reading and listening, and presenting and learning about the culture.
