    • While Dickies Arena's main entrance is on Montgomery Street, there will be no general admission to the 2021 event. Guests (limited to 4) must accompany their graduate at the assigned time of arrival at the exhibit level.

    • What's a "rolling ceremony?" - It means the graduates and guests will form an extended but constantly moving processional from the time they arrive at the Exhibit Hall entrance to Dickies, located off Trail Drive.

    • Graduates and guests won't be seated at any time; they will be placed in line and will process through the exhibit area of the venue, before entering the arena and crossing the stage as their name is read.

    • Once the graduate crosses the stage, they will immediately leave the building with their guests. If weather cooperates, there are many nice spots for outdoor photos around the arena. Of course, many graduates will want to continue the celebration elsewhere such as at a restaurant, home, or outdoors.

    • Livestream - TCC will livestream the commencement ceremony.

    • Parking - For GPS, use the following address to get to the exhibit hall entrance and surface parking lots available to graduates and guests: 54 Trail Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107. This corresponds to the intersection of Trail Drive and Harvey Street, behind the arena. For 2021, there is no fee for parking in the Yellow Lot and marked adjacent lots. The Dickies Arena parking garage will not be available for commencement parking.

TCC Has More Important Information about Their Rolling Commencement and Answered Questions about Arrival Times and Name Cards

TCC answered our questions we had about the arrival times on our name cards, not having received name card etc. for the upcoming rolling commencement.

Email from TCC:

Hello Everyone,

Just a few days until 2021 TCC Commencement! I wanted to send out an update that addresses just a few common questions and issues that have come up.

ECHS Graduate Arrival Times and Name Cards

Graduates will not be turned away due to time printed on card or not having a card. All ECHS graduates will attend the first hour of the ceremony. Name cards were mailed on Thursday, so if graduates did not get their card on Saturday, they should get them today or tomorrow. Some ECHS graduates have gotten cards with times that do not match the above chart. Apparently, there was a glitch that put some graduates into the timeslots for the non-ECHS graduates. ALL ECHS graduates should arrive at either 9:45 (if your last name begins with A-K) or 10:20 (if your last name begins with L-Z) regardless of the time on their name card. If a graduate does not receive a card or forgets their name card. There is a station where a duplicate card can be printed for the graduate. That card is what will be scanned so their name is read aloud as they cross the stage.

There will be no guest tickets, rather, the graduate and their four guests should arrive together to enter the arena. Children in strollers are not counted as guests, but all others will count as guests. The graduate and their guests will park in the yellow lots and enter at the Northeast Exhibit Entrance and proceed together along a path where the graduates will check in and have their formal graduation photo taken. A professional photo will also be taken as each graduate crosses the stage.

The distance the graduates and their guests will walk is over a quarter mile, on hard surfaces, so we do ask that be taken into account by those attending. A live stream will be available as well at a link to the completed ceremony in the following days.

Senior Google Accounts Closing --

In preparation for the end of the school year and graduation, it is important for graduating seniors to back up any emails and files in their Google accounts that they want to take with them when they leave GCISD.

Once student accounts are disabled they will not be reopened to retrieve files left behind including college communications or documents. The sooner you begin preparing for this the better. I recently updated the instructions for this so hopefully they're a little easier to follow. Seniors, please see the instructions below so you can backup your Google files before your accounts close on the last day of school.

Change Your Parchment Email to a Personal Email account

We have talked about this many times in Pathways class, but be sure to switch your Parchment account email to a personal email before your school Google account closes on the last day of school.
