Meals 2 Go at Gateway

During the Holiday Break, we plan to continue our Meals2Go curb-side meal distribution at Gateway. The food will help families provide meals for their children, ages 1-18, during the three weeks of Winter Recess. The pandemic has been difficult for everyone and this is one way we can help.

The meals will be distributed between 11:30 - 1:30 on Mondays (Monday/Tuesday meals) and Wednesdays (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday meals). Specific meal distribution dates are listed below.

*December 14 and 16

*December 21 and 23

*December 28 and 30

Daily Health Assessment

As a reminder, we ask that every day before they leave home, families complete a self-health assessment, asking themselves these three vital questions:

  1. Has your child had a fever of 100.4 or greater, a new cough, new onset of shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell in the last 24 hours?
  2. Is your child waiting for a COVID-19 test result due to symptoms or a close contact exposure?
  3. Has anyone in your household been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you will be expected to stay home.

Safe Arrival To School

At Gateway, the safety of our students and staff continues to be our number one priority. Please remember that Gateway students that do not attend Kid’s Club should not be arriving at school before 8:35 AM. Breakfast is free for all Gateway students and will be offered each morning at 8:35 am upon students' entry. The school day begins each morning at 8:50 AM.

Leaving children at school prior to 8:35 AM creates an unsafe situation, due to the fact that teachers are not on duty until 8:35 AM. If you need to drop your child off prior to 8:35 AM, please consider using Kids Club. Kids Club is a before and after school program administered by the Omaha Schools Foundation for children attending Omaha Public Elementary Schools. If you are interested in enrolling your child in Kids Club or have questions regarding specific hours and fees, please call the Omaha Schools Foundation Office at (531) 299-0250.
