Reading
We are working on our fifteenth Superkids unit. This week we are learning that ow can also make the /o/ sound. We are also practicing our memory words: warm, walk, give, once, done.
Math
We are starting our learning of Unit 6: Shapes. This week we are learning what attributes 2D and 3D shapes have (how many vertices, faces, straight lines, etc.)
Please have your child practice adding two 2-digit numbers together with and without regrouping. Tell your child two numbers between 1-100 to add together and then remind them to carry the one over if they made a teen number with the first two numbers.
Grammar/Spelling
low, blow, grow, slow, snow, warm, walk, once, give, done.
Don't forget to look at the Roll and Spell, and Spelling Menu for ideas on how to make practicing these words fun!

Playground
1. We are making a final push for donations and would love to be able to enlist businesses to help with this. We can provide a letter that has been formatted specifically for business partners and we would appreciate you reaching out to the people that you do business with to see if they might be willing to contribute. You can reply to our PTO at pto140@rockton140.org to coordinate this effort and provide you with the necessary materials and information to make these contacts.
2. We will be constructing our playgrounds at all three schools via a community build which allows us a 20-30% savings. To make that possible we need a group of individuals who are willing to show up and help put the playgrounds together. We will have a lead supervisor and two additional team members from Burke Play there to guide the process but we need the manpower to actually pull this off! If you are open to hearing more information and to be contacted once we finalize dates to determine if it fits into your schedule, please fill out this link: bit.ly/CommunityBuild2023
