Ms. Pater Mr. Engeriser Mrs. Cichon
Dear Washington Families,
We hope you are all enjoying this wonderful fall weather! Since the start of the school year, our students have been filling their days with fun and engaging lessons. We have just completed our flag football and fitness units. Next week, we will be starting our basketball unit. Our basketball unit will last for two weeks and then we will begin our tumbling unit. We will be keeping all of our classes inside for the next couple of months. As always, please make sure your child has their gym shoes on or that they keep an extra pair of gym shoes in their locker. If you would like to see what's happening in your child's physical education class at Washington, follow us on Twitter!

Fit and Full of Thanks!
We have so many things to be grateful for here at Washington! Our bulletin board this month focuses on the important people and things in our students' lives. We love seeing all the things that our students are thankful for.
ELF Halloween Hustle
The ELF Halloween Hustle will take place this Saturday, October 27th at 8:00 am at Hodges Park in Park Ridge. The Halloween hustle is a non-competitive running/walking event that will bring together families, community members, teachers, and administrators. If you would like to register, please follow this link. We hope to see you there!
Looking Ahead
The inline skating unit for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will begin on Monday, December 3 and will continue through Friday December 14. We encourage our students to bring their own skating equipment to use throughout the unit. If students choose not to bring their own equipment, we will provide them with inline skates, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Students will need to bring their own helmet. If students do not bring a helmet, they will not be allowed to skate. If you have any questions, please feel free to email your child's physical education teacher. There will be a volunteer sign up sent out to 3rd grade families in November.
Here is a link to Lutheran General Hospital's bike helmet purchsing program. Helmets can be purchased at a discounted price for children and adults.
