CHS Check Out Policy
CHS students will be allowed to check out with a parent/guardian note only. A parent/guardian phone number will need to be included on the checkout note for verification purposes.
***No phone call checkouts will be allowed because of safety concerns.
CHS is a closed campus and we strongly discourage students from checking out at lunch. This typically causes unnecessary tardies and classroom interruptions. If a student is checking out at lunch, a parent/guardian must physically come in and sign the student out and them back in from lunch.
Only a parent/guardian is allowed to drop lunch off for a student. If a parent/guardian is dropping off lunch for a student, there will be a table (outside the office) with a sharpie for the students name to be written on it. Students should know in advance that lunch is being dropped off to them.

AP CLASSES Remember that in order to receive weighted credit for an AP class, you must stay in the class all year AND take the AP exam at the end of the year.
HONOR GRADUATE If you are trying to be an Honor Graduate, remember that you must take all required courses and graduate with a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.75. To graduate with High Honors, students must take required courses including one additional AP/Concurrent Course beyond the required Junior and Senior English and have a grade point average of 3.76 to 4.0. Students who graduate with a GPA higher than 4.0 who have completed required courses including two or more AP/Concurrent Courses beyond the required Jr. and Sr. English, will graduate with Distinguished High Honors. Students cannot have a grade of D or F on the final transcript in order to qualify for Honors. If retaking a course, students must retake the same course with the exception of PAP Algebra I. It is your responsibility to check to make sure you have taken all required courses as listed in your student handbook.

HOBY (Hugh O'Bryan Youth) Leadership Seminar The Hugh O'Bryan Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar is a great opportunity for one CHS tenth grader to develop his or her leadership abilities. The focus of the weekend is on three phases of leadership: personal leadership, group leadership and leadership for society. The seminar will be held this spring/early summer. The cost is paid by the school, but students are responsible for transportation to and from the location. Applications will be available in October in the counseling center.
ASPIRE EXAM All 10th graders will take the Aspire test in April. This test will provide estimated ACT scores.

DIGITAL COURSE Each student must take and pass a digital course in order to graduate. The Health class in grades 9-12 will meet this digital requirement as will your English class.
