Welcome Back!

We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. We've had a great start to the school year. The students have been busy, the teachers have been busy and we've been busy. We are starting off this new year with a new name. We are excited to be called Baldwin Friends of Music and Arts. We will continue to advocate for the fine and performing arts within the district and we look forward to working closely with the art teachers throughout this year.

Summer Arts Program Recap

The summer arts program was a great success this year. Over 150 students in grades 3 - 11 attended the Summer Music and Art program. We opened a second art section to accommodate the high demand. This program is a terrific way to provide enrichment to our students. Thanks to the School District for this partnership.

Welcome Mr. Poprilo

We are proud to welcome our new Director of Fine and Performing Arts, Andre H. Poprilo. Thanks to the hard work of many in our community the Director of Fine and Performing Arts position now includes all grade levels in our district.

He has a M.S. from Touro College and a M.M. and B.M. from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

National Arts Education Week

Baldwin High School students celebrated National Arts Education Week by raising awareness for the visual arts. From September 16th through the 18th High Schooler's work was exhibited in the Lobby of the School. The students also held a locker decorating contest, created pins, and designed a mural in support of the week long awareness campaign.

Band Day

The Annual Homecoming/Band Day was held on October 17. Many fans came out to root on our Baldwin Bruins in the Homecoming game and support our 6th, 7th & 8th grade bands along with the entire High School band. Over 200 students performed during the halftime show.
