Summit Middle School
Library and Technology News - Student Edition
February 2022
Students and Parents!
It was wonderful to see all the students back in the library this month. 7th and 8th grade classes participated in Book Speed Dating-a quick preview of our new books. Our 8th graders also wrapped their favorite books and wrote a summary without giving away the title for our February display-Blind Date with a Book.
Our 6th graders were very enthusiastic as we looked through poetry books and I gave a book talk over several Books in Verse that we have in our library.
This month we have several book displays for the students to explore: Celebrate Black History Month, Blind Date with a Book, and a display showcasing the Winter Olympics.
Remember you may log into Destiny and place books on Hold if they have already been checked out and we will let you know as soon as it is available.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams

Voting Ends April 8th
The Edmond Public Schools Red Dirt Book Award was established in 2018 to celebrate recent books that are loved by our students. The Edmond Middle School Media Directors select 14 – 16 titles from a variety of genres. These titles are then voted on by students who have read 3 or more of the titles. Voting ends on April 8th.
Chromebook Reminders:
- Don't forget to charge your Chromebook every night.
- Power off your Chromebook at least once a week.
- A quick fix for many Chromebook problems is to just remove the user and Power Off.
- Close tabs that you are not using; the more tabs that are open--the slower your Chromebook will be.
- Please delete old bookmarks and then bookmark them again through EPS bookmarks. This will solve many problems of corrupted links.
- Please bring your Chromebook to the library if it has any damage or isn't working properly.
