LHS TIGER TALK
May 5, 2023
Good Afternoon Loveland High School Families,
The first week of May is already in the books! Wow! This week students who took Advanced Placement courses were busy taking their exams. Students throughout the week were focused on ending the school year strong as they prepared for their final assessments.
The Class of 2023 has just 5 days left! Today the Class of 2023 started their morning off watching the sunrise and eating donuts on the football field. Later in the day seniors celebrated “Decision Day” where they proudly wore shirts showing where they will be heading after graduation.
If you are looking for something to do tonight, we have a very special event taking place here at the high school. Our Relay for Life event takes place tonight from 6:00-11:30pm at the stadium. We hope you can come and support this great cause. If you are not able to make it, one way to support our efforts is to either make a donation or to purchase a luminaria bag. Luminaria bags are decorated in memory of someone who lost their battle to cancer, someone currently battling cancer, or a survivor of cancer. When the sun goes down, we turn out the stadium lights, light a candle in the bags, and walk a lap in silence in memory of the loved ones they are dedicated to.
You can sign up for the event, make a donation, or purchase luminaria on our website (see links below).

Have a great weekend!

After Prom Committee NEEDS YOUR HELP!
To Loveland High Parents:
The Loveland High PTO has been hosting After Prom for 20 plus years. This year’s theme will be a luau and will be celebrated at Loveland High School on Saturday, May 13th, from 11:30pm – 2:30 am. This long-time tradition for our students to have fun in a safe, alcohol-free, and drug-free environment can only carry on with the support of our families’ and community. Our school will be transformed with amazing decor, inflatables, games, activities, and lots of food for a fun time with friends. This year we have added a petting zoo! Support from our families and the community enables us to host this important event! Our goal is to continue to keep our students and community safe on what can be a dangerous night when many kids are out celebrating.
All juniors and seniors and their guests are eligible to attend -– even if students don't go to prom, they can still share in the fun of After Prom!! Freshmen and sophomores can only attend after prom if they are going to prom with a junior or senior. We strive to keep the entry price low, at $20 per student, to encourage attendance at this event. Tickets are on sale now - Buy Tickets Now. Deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, May 12th at 5:00pm.
Please help us by investing in a tradition that provides life-long high school memories while still giving kids a SAFE, fun, and exciting night. We are a committee of less than 10 so we need volunteers to help decorate, run the casino games, help with food and prizes, and monitor other activities. Please volunteer in one of these areas if you are able. You do not have to be a parent of a junior or senior to volunteer. Please consider joining our committee!
We are providing lots of food! We will be having The Works and LaRosa’s pizza, Subway sandwiches, Dunkin Donuts, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Sweet Bliss treats, Skip’s bagels, and Cinemark popcorn. All these items have been graciously donated by these businesses and we are so grateful for their support! In addition, GECU has sponsored having a shaved ice/soft serve truck. Thank you GECU! We do need a few other items. If you would like to provide snacks or drinks it would be greatly appreciated.
At After Prom, we will be giving away amazing prizes! This year our prizes are a MacBook Air, iPad Air, PlayStation 5, 2 Apple Watches, Air Pods, Amazon TV, Epson Printer, Boom 3 Bluetooth speaker. Just to name a few. In addition, one senior will win a $500 Visa gift card and one junior will win a $250 Visa gift card. In all, we give away over $5,000 in prizes. On top of that, we give away lots of door prizes. This is where we need your help! Please click here if you would like to donate a gift card for a door prize. Every student will win a door prize!
Check out this video that shares a glimpse into After Prom from 2018 (camping theme) and the fun that is had by all. Encourage your students to attend Loveland Late Nite Luau 2023!
We appreciate all the ways our families support our LHS community and thank you for considering a gift to After Prom. If you have any questions, please email us at lovelandhighafterprom@gmail.com.
With gratitude,
LHS After Prom Committee

Is your student considering taking the ACT this summer? Here are some considerations:
- 10th graders who have completed Algebra II who test this summer may have a less busy junior year
- 11th graders may want to try for a score increase before focusing on applications and essays
If you haven't already, please be sure to watch our ACT-SAT 101 webinar from last November: https://sites.google.com/lovelandschools.org/collegeandcareerreadiness/home
