A Message from Mrs. Johnson

Hello Bryant families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend.

Please join us Thursday, January 26th for our School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings. The SSC is a decision making body that works collaborative the the site adminstrator to help allocate and approve site funding as well as provide input as it relates to the school site safety plan. The meeting will be held virtually at 3:00 pm. You can find the log in information in the event information at the bottom of the bulletin. We look forward to seeing you there.

I know this was in my bulletin last week however I think it is worth repeating. We are experiencing an increase in reports of students testing positive for COVID-19. Let's be sure to protect ourselves and others. If your child is not feeling well or is experiencing any COVID like symptoms, it is much safer to keep them at home until they are free of symptoms and feeling better. If your child begins to show signs of not feeling well including but not limited to having a fever, vomiting, or excessive coughing while at school, you may be asked to come pick them up from school. It has always been RUSDs expectation that parents do not attempt to medigate symptoms by giving the child medication and sending them to school. The medication will eventually wear off and your child will begin to have a very uncomfortable day at which time you will be called to pick them up. If you are in need of a COVID-19 test for your child, please contact the front office. We will be happy to provide you with one. Thank you so much for your consideration of the entire school community.

As always, Bee Fantastic, Bee Great, Bee the Difference! Have a great week!

Our Little Bees are 100 Days Smarter!

Last friday marked the 100th day of school. What happened? The school was taken over by Senior Citizens!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in dressing up. 100 days down and 80 more to go. Let's make the last 80 even more exciting than the first 100.

Our "Specials" help to make a connection!

One thing that is unique to Bryant and the other two Core Knowledge school in RUSD are the "Specials" rotations. During "specials", students have the opportunity to connect core content to either art or music. Last week, Mrs. G. led our 1st grade students in creating a wonderful replica of the solor system which connects directly to what they are learning in science. Great job to Mrs. G! Thank you for all you do to make the content come alive for our students.

Attendance Matters! 4th grade is keeping BUZZ!

Congratulations to Mrs. Broadnax and her super students for having the highest attendance percentage for the week. Thank you so much to all the parents for making sure the students are at school on time everday ready to learn. Our fourth grade students are doing a fantastic job of being at school on time ready to go! We appreciate you!

Attention all 6th grade parents

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting last Friday. If you missed it, we will be holding another meeting virtually on January 25th. The log-in information can be found on the flyer. To ensure you child is prepared and ready for what to expect at Science Camp, all parents are highly encouraged to attend at least one of the meeting sessions.

H.E.A.R.T.S. has Heart!

Last week, our HEARTS program had record attendance numbers of 118 students. Thank you so much to Mr. Carlson and his team for providing such a high quality program. Students are loving the HEARTS clubs. Parents, we appreciate your continued and unwavering support.

Core Virtue for the month of January - COURAGE

Courage is the ability to control fear and to be willing to deal with something that is dangerous, difficult, or unpleasant. We are faced with situations on a daily basis that may create some fear or uncertainty within us. Showing courage is to demonstrate the ability to overcome that fear and to do what is right.

Time is Running out!

We are nearing the end of our yearbook sales. Please don't miss out on the chance to purchase a 22-23 yearbook. The presale price of $25 for yearbooks will end February 3, 2023. After February 3rd, yearbooks will be sold for $30. Only a certain number of yearbooks have been ordered. They will be available until they are sold out.
