National Voter Registration Day is September 28th
Help us spread the word
On Tuesday, September 28, from 10 am – 2 pm, we will be “back porch sitting” here at the Library. We welcome unregistered voters and those needing to re-register after a move, name change etc. to stop by the registration table at the back of the library (the back porch) to register to vote. We will have all the information you need.
This is a completely non-partisan event! We won't talk politics, even if you want to. We don't want to know your party affiliation or voting record. Our goal is to help as many people as possible participate in this bedrock of democracy.
If you would like to volunteer at the registration table, we have two shifts: 10 am – noon; and noon – 2 pm. Email Lynne if you can help out, and thanks in advance: firstname.lastname@example.org.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Come on over to the library to register your child or children (ages newborn – starting kindergarten) for this international early literacy program. It’s super easy and fun! Your child will be given a book tote, a bookmark or two, some stickers, a new book (while supplies last), and a log sheet to record each book read to them before starting kindergarten (yes, you can repeat titles over and over!). After each 100 books recorded, come in for a new record sheet, and add your child’s name to our wall display. Once you reach 1,000 books read, your child can pick a stuffed animal and its accompanying book from our display shelf to take home. We look forward to your family joining us in this fun adventure!
