Battle of the Books: My book club with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be starting this month. Students who participate in Battle of the Books will read 10 books and we will participate in a book trivia competition with other area schools in March.


New Books: We've been busy getting new books ready. Stop down and check out the cart of new books.

Here are the topics that I'm focusing on in library this month. The library standards that I teach to are flexible and can be applied to any topic or skill. Please let me know if there are any topics or skills that you would like me to cover during library.


Kindergarten - parts of a book: title, author, illustrator

1st Grade - fiction & nonfiction, guided inquiry research and questioning

2nd Grade - Library organization and locating fiction books

3rd Grade - Cinderella stories from around the world

4th grade - Finding resources in the library and library databases

5th grade - Keyword searches and online resources
