Principal's Message
Dear Hallinan Families,
Happy Earth Day! That's how numerous students greeted me today. And, they told me about things they are doing to help our planet: planting flowers, vegetables and trees, conserving water, electricity and gas, consuming less and picking up trash. Our students are awesome, and I'll say it again, there is no place like Hallinan!
The PTO sponsored H.O.P.E.S. Food Drive for the Tualatin School House Pantry is up and running. For more information see the PTO section below. To make it extra easy for families to contribute, feel free to drop off items in the carline on Thursday 4/29, the last day of collection.
Please remind your children that HAL Hangouts are tomorrow! Invitations were sent out to families on Tuesday. If you did not receive the zoom link, please contact Lee at gatesl@loswego.k12.or.us. Our character trait this month is Creativity, so get ready for some imaginative fun and games! We'd love to have your child join us!
Over the past week, I've spent time teaching sounds, comparing/contrasting, lapsed time, fractions, fact vs opinion, discussing and debating a conundrum and rhythm and dance. I have had a tremendous amount of fun being in classrooms and I am so proud of all the work your children are doing and how supportive they are of each other. It's just one of the many things that makes Hallinan such a great community! Below, I've included a few photos from my time in classrooms this week.
Have an outstanding day!
Melissa Griffiths

- Grade 5: Science
- Grade 6: ELA
- Grade 7: ELA and Math
- Grade 8: Math and Science
- Grade 11: ELA and Math
- ELA and/or math (grades 3, 4, 6–8 and 11): submit the state opt-out form to your child’s school. The form is available on the State Assessments page of the District website.
