Fifth Grade Newsletter

May 2, 2016

Message To Parents,

Tomorrow is the deadline to order graduation t-shirts. The Fifth Grade Planning Committee is working on a very tight budget this year, so unfortunately students will not be given a t-shirt if they unable to pay, as was done in the past.

Please return spring Lifetouch picture packets and/or payment A.S.A.P.

Parents - We would like for our students to wear their class shirts for our field trip on Friday. If your child does not have the shirt, then please have him or her wear a shirt the color of his or her homeroom. (see list below) It will make keeping track of the students in a large crowd a bit easier. Also, parents are not able to ride on the bus. Our buses will be packed full of students. Many parents in the past have opted to meet in the parking lot and carpool.

Bass - Blue

Smallwood - Gray

Walker - Teal blue

Wandrum - Red

Thank you,

Fifth Grade Teachers

On your child’s field day, he/she has the opportunity to purchase a Kona Ice Snow Cone. The prices are $3 for small or $5 for a large. Please send cash only to your child’s teacher by next Friday, May 6th, if you wish for your child to have one on field day. Thank you!

The start of the new quarter means a new round of book responses due by the end of the grading period. Most classes require 7 books per grading period. Students need to be making progress towards their end-of-the quarter book review goals in order to attend the reading celebration on April 1st.
