Scholarship Corner
George and Mary Josephine Hamman Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship applications may be submitted during the student’s senior year in high school. Students may complete our scholarship forms online (see link below) after September 15th of their senior year. Do not submit an application before you take the SAT or ACT. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have a minimum SAT composite score of 1000 (on the Math and Reading/Writing portions combined), and/or an ACT composite score of 21. All SAT and/or ACT scores must be from the same test date.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. High School Seniors after the start of their senior year.
2. Houston area high school seniors who attend schools or are homeschooled in the following eight counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery or Waller.
3. Students who are citizens of the United States. Students with Permanent Resident status are not eligible.
4. The Scholarships are awarded based on academics and financial need.

Note: The deadline for the SUBMISSION/RECEIPT of your application is 4:00 PM, on February 16th (If this date falls on a weekend, the application should be received no later than 4:00 PM of the preceding Friday) of the student's senior year.
The 2022 SERVANT’S HEART SCHOLARSHIP
WHO QUALIFIES TO APPLY?
You must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Be a legal U.S. resident
- Attend high school in Harris County, TX
- Be a high school senior who is eligible for graduation in May or June of 2022
- Intend to enroll as a full-time student in an accredited college, vocational or technical school in the Summer or Fall of 2022
- Minimum GPA of 2.75
- Minimum of 40 documented service hours

What Are You Thankful For In 2021?
Wildcat Library Writing Contest
Rules for the HHS Library Writing Contest:
· Essay must relate to the theme “What Are You Thankful For”?
· Essay must be your original work.
· Essay can be no longer than 500 words.
· Essay must be non-fiction and follow the form of a diary, journal, blog, memoir, or essay.
· Essay must be submitted to the library on or before November 18, 2021.
Prize, $25.00 Visa Gift Card will be awarded on November 19, 2021.
Library Books
Due to coming renovations the Wildcat library will no longer check out physical books, after November 1,2021. Currently all checked out library books will be due November 30,2021. Students will be able to check out their favorite genre of books using the Sora app. Sora is the online reading app that will give students access to eBooks and audio books 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from their laptop, phone, or mobile device. For help navigating the Sora app please contact Mrs. Turner, for assistance.
