Hello Bobcats!
We are officially down to the last 14 days of school. It has come to our attention that the last round of course verifications for returning Bobcats (current 6th and 7th graders) may have not gone out to each and every Bobcat family. We are working with the TEAMS company to ensure that the emails are resent. They should have been distributed on Tuesday, May 3rd, but that does not appear to be the case for everyone. May 10th, we will have a reverse bell schedule 7th-1st. This will ensure that all 7 of our classes meet the same number of times and classes can stay on track.
If you have a current 6th grade Bobca,t reminder that Camp Champions paperwork and monies are due no later than May 26th. If you are unsure if paperwork has been turned in or remaining balance for Camp Champions, please reach out to Mr. Loyd.
The 8th Grade Pool party will not be able to take place this year due to lack of staffing at the City of Kyle Pool and lack of alternatives in the area. We currently have Ash Pavilion (in Gregg-Clarke Park) reserved and will alter plans for May 24th. More details to follow.
Thank you to all the 6th and 7th graders who submitted t-shirt designs for their grade level t-shirts for next year. If your Bobcat would still like to submit a design, have them do so by this Sunday.
Congratulations to our Guest Teacher of the Year- Melissa Garraway. Thank you for being here on campus to help out this school year, we appreciate all you have done.
I would like to congratulate two staff members on our campus who received District Ambassador awards. Thank you for your commitment and hard work here at BMS.

BMS 21-22 GUEST TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Barton is happy to announce Melissa Garraway as Guest Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Garraway is a previous Bobcat who retired last year and she decided she wanted to continue helping out with the shortage of Guest Teacher’s this year. She took on a long-term sub position that started as a month and turned in to almost 4 months, and has also taken many other daily jobs throughout the year. We appreciate her knowledge as a previous teacher, positive attitude and willingness to help out where ever we need her! As a teacher, she always got along so well with the students and staff and that hasn’t changed since becoming a guest teacher. It has been very pleasant to have a familiar face on our campus- Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat!

News from the Nurse
Attention 6th grade Barton parents...
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Per Texas law all incoming 7th grade students are required to have the following immunizations or provide an exemption affidavit prior to the start of 7th grade.
o TDAP
o Meningococcal
If your child has already had these vaccines please provide current records to the school nurse. Doctors office do not send records to schools without parent request and consent. If they have not had these vaccines they will need to receive them prior to the start of the new school year. Individual notices will go out soon to all those students in need of current documentation for next year.
I know the new school year is months away, but I also know how busy things get in the summer so I wanted to send an early notice and encourage you to take care of it as soon as possible.
If you have questions or concerns, or need a copy of current vaccine records please contact me via email at Christi.chabarria@hayscisd.net or phone at 512-268-7287.
Once you have current records you may email, fax or drop them off at the campus.
Again, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email.

COVID Exposure & Quarantine
Once we receive notice that a COVID positive person has been on our campus during their infectious period the following will occur. Email notifications will be sent with a dashboard of number of cases reported on campus for that day. The notification will include all classrooms that the covid positive person(s) was in on the included dates. The parent must check the listed classrooms to determine if their child was in those same classes. The policy is that anyone in the same classroom with the covid positive person is considered to be a close contact exposure. The parent is responsible for notifying attendance by sending a copy of the email
to BMS.attendance@hayscisd.net if you choose to keep your child home on quarantine. Quarantine is not required for at school exposures at this time. Masking is recommended following covid exposure.
Below is the link to the new school protocols based on the updated CDC guidelines. If you have questions regarding quarantine and school protocols please contact the school nurse at christi.chabarria@hayscisd.net
