Our School Site Council (SSC) currently has 5 vacancies for PARENT members. We would be honored if you would consider serving in this position.

Our SSC meetings occur on the second Wednesday of each month, with the exception of November, January, and February, from 2:30 – 3:30. The team consists of half parents (5), and half school staff: three classroom teachers, one classified member, and myself. Any member of the public may attend the meeting, but only the members can vote. Members serve a two-year term. Each year we create the School Plan, including action steps for student achievement supported by “categorical” monies. In addition, SSC is tasked with reviewing and revising as necessary the Parental Involvement Policy and the School Safety Plan. The SSC members volunteer to serve on the Council.

The members of SSC are elected by their peers. Should you choose to “run” for this position, your name will be on a ballot and every Hooker Oak parent will be asked to vote August 19th-21st.
